Covering the two ends of the architectural spectrum, this project involved working on a Grade 2 listed brewery, built in 1847, and a modern tower block, being developed for student accommodation. Converted into a whisky warehouse in 1901, this latest conversion of the old St George’s brewery required specialist joinery skills and extreme care to ensure both internal and external facades of the historic building were well-preserved, while the interior was transformed into high quality accommodation that complimented the building’s character.

Challenges in the form of a tight schedule and limited delivery access were met with exact phasing of material deliveries and labour allocation, along with first class supervision, to ensure a quality finish, completed on time. Going above and beyond the brief, Rainsford also ensured a community focus to the project by specifying labourers and carpenters from the local area.

Taylor’s Hoists were also involved in this project having supplied a twin passenger goods hoist to the new tower block for 9 months of the main build.
